Like crime velvetines review

I went to London IMATS this June and came across the Lime Crime Velvetines liquid lipstick. Of course after researching and reading up the reviews and knowing that it's a product hyped up by the likes of Karla Powell and Kandee Johnson I had to pick it up and give it a try.
The product it's self claims to be kiss proof and long lasting. It retails on cocktailcosmetics.co.uk for £11.50 and I think mine was £9ish at IMATS London.
It has a doe foot applicator which gives a nice control and makes the lipstick itself mega easy to apply. It's texture is really light when wet which I think is nicer then the tacky feeling cream lipsticks give. After 30 secs it dries completely matte and a gorgeous red similar to Mac ruby/riri woo, the difference between them both is ruby/riri woo dries your lips out velvetines doesn't. Which I don't know if you'll agree is hard to come by with a matte lipstick.
The big question is, is it kissproof? Well like every red lipstick I wouldn't really recommend going for a full frontal snog but if you were going for a peck then maybe it is, long lasting? YES!!! The one thing you do have to be careful with is greasy foods, which with ANY waterproof make up is the same, as we all know that oil is what breaks up waterproof make up. But otherwise the lasting power is #awesome!
Lastly I would like to comment on on the packaging which I think is so unique, I love the fact that it is very fairy tale and carousel like themed and I think that draws the eyes of the consumer, not only that on the tube itself you can see clearly the colour and know what colour you are getting. It comes in two shades red velvet and suede berry and out of the two i wold I say that red velvet is definitely my favourite and it's my staple red lip for summer.
Rating it out of ten I would definitely give it an 8 as its good but I believe that there's room for improvement. What's your staple lip colour/product for summer? Let me know!
Peace out

MUA undress your skin highlighter review

So this spring and summer everybody wants radiant glowing skin (including me). So I decided let's go out on a whim and buy a powdered highlight! OMG best decision ever. So I went to Superdrug (sorry to those who don't have one) and bought the new MUA undress your skin powdered highlight.

So this product only cost £3 (BARGAIN) and is as highly pigmented as a higher end highlight. I love the glow it gives (swatches to follow) it's like a light pink iridescent shimmer. But it's not like sparkly if that makes sense. Anyway my verdict on this product is a thumbs as you get amazing quality or the price you pay.

Barry M colours

So today I went to the Trafford centre and decide to go shopping. As normal I got sucked in to Superdrug to see if the MUA undress your skin collection was in and it was. I purchased the highlighter (review coming soon) but I went over to the Barry M section and of course there nail paints!

The thing I love about there nail paints is that they give a similar finish to higher end nail paints but for a 6th of the price. Amazing right! So I bought two colours that are perfect for ss13. The first been peach Melba which is this gorgeous pastel coral colour and the 2nd shade vein strawberry ice cream which was a pastel pink colour.

So I am gonna review them what they look like on but this is just a first impression if you will. Cannot wait to use them.

A splash of colour

I did this make up for a hairdressing student about two months ago. The brief was an African queen an the client told me exactly what he wanted with picture references.
I used Ben nye sparkle powders (dupe alert: Barry m dazzle dust) with the illamasqua small blending brush (FYI: a great fluffy brush) and applied in thin layers to create a satisfactory colour intensity. Using illamasqua black Sophie medium pencil for added smoulder, create the fashion look of a colourful African queen. BAAM! ;)

 Hey!!

So I thought I would use this page to explain a bit about me! I am a 17 year old girl from the north west of England who has an un healthy obsession with make up, hair and all things styling. Once a dancer who's dreams were to perform on the west end/ broadway were soon turned to the back stage mayhem of a make up artist and also a slight taste for the pressure of stage manager too. I am pretty sure you can guess I love a manic life.

This blog will be product recommendations and also thing I am loving and an insight into my life.

Laugh at the good times, look back on the memories and last of all enjoy all there is to come!
